PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a mat material in which inorganic particles adhere firmly to inorganic fibers.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a mat material including inorganic fibers and inorganic particles comprises a process for preparing spun inorganic filaments, a process for adhering the inorganic particles to a surface of the inorganic filaments, a process for applying resin-made sizing agent to the surface of the inorganic filaments to which the inorganic particles adhere, and a process for obtaining inorganic fiber strands by bundling the inorganic filaments to which the resin-made sizing agent is applied. |
