PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position orientation method of the temperature changed place of an insulation electric wire or cable, capable of orienting the position of the temperature changed place of the insulation electric wire or cable in the predetermined part of the insulation electric wire or cable.SOLUTION: A position orientation method of the temperature changed place of an insulation electric wire or cable having a conductor and an insulator includes the step of measuring the frequency spectrum of a signal changed due to the size of the characteristic impedance of the insulation electric wire or cable, a phase angle thereof, or a characteristic impedance change, the step of converting the frequency spectrum into a position spectrum which is a position function on the insulation electric wire or cable, and the step of orientating the position of the temperature changed place on the insulation electric wire or cable from the waveform of the position spectrum. |
