PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring for an internal combustion engine which reliably rotates a compression ring with the sliding of a piston.SOLUTION: A guide part which converts a pressing force of combustion gas to a biasing force in the circumferential direction is disposed on one side or both sides via an abutment joint part 20 of a compression ring 16. As the guide part, an upward inclination surface 23 can be used. A pressure of the combustion gas operates directly to the upward inclination surface 23 and, therefore, a rotation function of the compression ring can be improved. The compression ring 16 rotates and, thereby, can prevent sludge from being accumulated in a ring groove 13. Therefore, the compression ring 16 can be retained while being brought into tight contact with a cylinder bore 1 with an elastic force. As a result, a generation amount of blow-by gas can be suppressed to improve fuel consumption. |
