PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair which can be prevented from a backward movement by the action of a user by a simple structure when the user tries to sit on the wheel chair.SOLUTION: A wheelchair comprises a movable base plate 40 for changing a position into an ordinary position or a brakable position in accordance with a load at the instant when a user sits on a seating portion 4. A braking cam member 43 is rotatably mounted on the movable base plate 40 so that, when the user sits on the seating portion 4, the movable base plate 40 takes an ordinary position and the braking cam member 43 leaves a main wheel 2, whereas, when the user leaves the seating portion 4, the movable base plate 40 takes the brakable position and a body portion 43A of the braking cam member 43 comes into forced contact with an outer circumference of the main wheel 2, and when the main wheel 2 begins to rotate backward, a protrusion 43B of the braking cam member 43 comes into forced contact with the outer circumference of the main wheel 2 and the main wheel 2 is braked. |
