PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VVT lock pin clearance measuring device which is capable of easily and promptly measuring a lock pin clearance of a completed VVT and further can be configured simple and inexpensive.SOLUTION: An oscillating base 2 is placed in a rotatable manner on a pedestal 1 which fixes a rotor 61 of a VVT 6. When fixing the rotor 61 to the pedestal 1, the oscillating base 2 positions a gear 63 and a housing 66 of the VVT 6 so as to be integrally rotatable while fitting a lock pin 62 into a bush 64 of the VVT 6. A dial gauge 3 is provided in which a measure 31 is moved to measure an oscillating base rotating amount in response to the rotation of the oscillating base 2. A corresponding relation between the oscillating base rotating amount and an actual lock pin clearance is measured beforehand, and the lock pin clearance is measured from a measurement of the dial gauge 3. |
