PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that can minimize increase of memory access and suppress deterioration of image quality.SOLUTION: An image processing device 100 for converting an interlace image to a progressive image and outputting the progressing image has an interpolation information generator 110 for generating interpolation information representing a first state or a second state for each interpolation pixel, an interpolating part 120 for generating the pixel value of an interpolation pixel by using the interpolation information, and a switching part 130 for generating a progressive image by interpolating an interlace image with the generated pixel value. The interpolation information generator 110 sets an interpolation pixel contained in a constant-speed area to a first state and sets an interpolation pixel contained in a non-constant-speed area to a second state in the interlace image, and the interpolating part 120 performs in-plane interpolation to generate the pixel value of the interpolation pixel whose interpolation information represents the second state, and performs inter-plane interpolation to generate the pixel value of the interpolation pixel whose interpolation information represents the first state. |
