PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band allocation method that is configured to control uplink transmission from respective ONUs connected with a plurality of OLTs in a lump and can improve utilization efficiency of a link connected with an upper level network while completing transmission permission to the respective ONUs in a short time.SOLUTION: The invention is a band allocation method of a communication device accommodating a plurality of optical line terminals connected with a plurality of optical network units via a passive optical line network. The band allocation method of the communication device is characterized by, in a cyclic period set as a transmission request reception period for the optical network units to transmit a transmission request signal to the optical line terminals, allocating a band for the respective optical network units to transmit the transmission request signal to the optical network units connected with the optical line terminals the number of which is fewer than the number of the optical line terminals accommodated in the communication device. |
