PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system and host apparatus capable of easily setting an extension function.SOLUTION: In a memory system (11) communicable with a host apparatus (20), a control unit controls a nonvolatile semiconductor memory device. A register can hold first information for specifying a driver that controls an extension function of the memory system. The register can hold second information about one or a plurality of events of the extension function. If an event occurs in the extension function, the memory system transmits a response including a flag indicating the occurrence of the event to the host apparatus according to a first command received from the host apparatus; and transmits the second information to the host apparatus according to a second command received from the host apparatus. |
