PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique enabling reduction in flickers and transition of brightness that occur in performing the generation of a gradation conversion parameter and the gradation conversion, both for each frame.SOLUTION: An image processing device includes: statistical quantity detection means for detecting a statistical quantity of images from frames of an input image; scene change detection means for detecting a switchover of scenes of the input image; generation means for generating a gradation conversion parameter for each frame by executing a first arithmetic operation using the statistic quantity of each frame; and conversion means for performing a gradation conversion process for each frame. Further, in the case of the scene change detection means detecting a switchover of scenes, the generation means temporarily changes an operation from the first arithmetic operation to a second arithmetic operation having shorter operating time than the first arithmetic operation, for generating a gradation conversion parameter. |
