PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber head which can position and fix an optical fiber to a case body with high accuracy, secure the sufficient holding power of the case body with respect to the optical fiber, and further can be inexpensively and easily manufactured, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: An optical fiber head 1A includes an optical fiber 10, a lens 30, and a case body 20 accommodating and holding the optical fiber 10 and the lens 30. The case body 20 includes a caulking part 22 holding the optical fiber 10 accommodated in the case body 20 in such a manner that a part of the case body 20 is plastically deformed in an axial direction of the case body 20 so that a diameter is substantially evenly reduced in a circumferential direction. The optical fiber 10 of a part held by the caulking part 22 includes a covering material 13 covering a core wire. The caulking part 22 is provided in a position on the rear end side of the case body 20 at a distance from the part where a top end surface 10a of the optical fiber 10 is located in the axial direction of the case body 20. |
