PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing cover lock mechanism and an image forming apparatus which are able to prevent unlocking resulting from a load applied to an opening/closing cover.SOLUTION: An opening/closing cover lock mechanism 20 unlocks by rotating a lever part 21 with a rotation shaft 30, around this rotation shaft 30, and enables an opening/closing cover to be opened/closed with respect to an apparatus body. The mechanism comprises: locking portions 23 provided on the apparatus body; pawl portions 40 provided on the rotation shaft 30 in the axial direction along which the rotation shaft 30 extends; and slide means 50 configured to slide the pawl portions 40 with respect to the rotation shaft 30 in the axial direction between a locking position where the means can be locked to the locking portion 23 and a retreat position located away from the locking position. |
