PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and an abnormality detection method that can detect that there is a possibility of data discarding due to time deviation of a lower-level communication device in a communication system employing an upper-level line concentrator whose output buffer capacity is reduced.SOLUTION: A communication system according to the invention monitors the amount of data accumulated in an output buffer, and determines that there is a possibility of data discarding due to time deviation of a lower-level communication device when a change in the amount of data has exceeded a prescribed threshold value. By eliminating the time deviation of the lower-level communication device, data discarding in an upper-level line concentrator can be prevented. In addition, the lower-level communication device in which time deviation has occurred can be determined. |
