PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash lamp instantaneous heating apparatus capable of achieving optimum heating suited to an object to be heated by controlling waveforms of the light emission intensity of a flash lamp in various modes.SOLUTION: The flash lamp instantaneous heating apparatus includes: a flash lamp F1; a plurality of capacitors C1-Cn arranged in parallel to the flash lamp F1; switching elements S1-Sn provided between each of the capacitors C1-Cn and the flash lamp F1 or between any predetermined one of the capacitors C1-Cn and the flash lamp F1; charging circuits E1-En for charging the capacitors; and a control circuit 2 that controls timing of on-operations of the switching elements.
