PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, imparting excellent rate characteristics even when thickness of a coating film is increased, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including the electrode.SOLUTION: An electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a collector having a pair of main surfaces facing each other; and an active material layer including at least an active material, a binder and a conductive material and formed at least on one main surface of the collector. A sum of an active material volume calculated from the average particle size D50 of the active material and a conductive material volume calculated from the average particle size D50 of the conductive material is 9.70×10-24.6×10cm/cmper unit area of the collector, and a gap volume of the active material layer is 6.00×10-20.0×10cm/cmper unit area of the collector. Accordingly, there can be provided: an electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, imparting excellent rate characteristics even when thickness of a coating film is increased; and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including the electrode. |
