PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger for electric car which can be protected against damage due to overheat.SOLUTION: The charger includes a connector for connection with an electric car, a plug for connection with an outlet of commercial power supply, a switching section for applying or interrupting power supply from the commercial power supply to the electric car selectively depending on the temperature of the charger, a display section for displaying the information about the operation of the charger, and a control section for controlling the operation of the charger. The control section can control the display section so as to display the information that can be distinguished when power supply from the commercial power supply to the electric car is interrupted upon completion of charging of a battery or disconnection of the connector from the electric car, and when power supply from the commercial power supply to the electric car is interrupted by the switching section. |
