PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape-like printing medium that allows own attribute information to be read in a set state, and further to provide a tape printer that performs printing thereon.SOLUTION: A tape cartridge has a tape-like printing medium (tape T) formed by laminating a printing tape and release paper P; a cut-off portion is extended in an extension direction of the tape T on the release paper P; and each position of the cut-off portions (C1, C2 and C3) in a width direction of the tape T represents attribute information of the tape T. Further, a tape printer that is mounted with the tape cartridge and performs printing on the printing tape comprises: a predetermined sensor (line sensor 19) for reading the position of the cut-off portion of the release paper P in the width direction; an attribute information analysis section (control section) for analyzing the attribute information on the basis of the position of the cut-off portion read by the predetermined sensor; and a print control section (control section) for performing print control on the basis of the attribute information analyzed by the attribute information analysis section. |
