PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display apparatus of a parallax division system, which prevents image quality deterioration and keeps a light source on at all times.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic display apparatus 1 comprises: a first light source and a second light source configured to emit linear polarization light beams orthogonal to each other in the polarization plane of light; a liquid crystal panel 2 having a sub-pixel 6b configured to display a left-eye image and a sub-pixel 6a configured to display a right-eye image; a lens 23 disposed behind the sub-pixel 6b and the sub-pixel 6a; a first light guide section configured, such that light emitted from the first light source and light emitted from the second light source are converted so that the polarization planes of light made incident on the left and right sides with a focal point between the lens 23 are different from each other by 90°, and to guide the converted light to the lens 23; and a second light guide section configured to guide light such that light having the one polarization plane, which is made incident on the right side from the focal point of the lens 23 and emitted from this lens 23, is made incident on the sub-pixel 6b and light having the other polarization plane, which is made incident on the left side from the focal point of the lens 23 and emitted from this lens 23, is made incident on the sub-pixel 6a. |
