PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas, which exhibits high exhaust gas cleaning performance even when reaction temperature is lowered and the durability of which can be improved even when a small amount of the catalyst is used.SOLUTION: The catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas is obtained by depositing vanadium oxide on a compound oxide of titanium oxide and silicon oxide so that the content of the silicon oxide is 1-10 mass%. The compound oxide is prepared in such a condition that the firing temperature exceeds 500°C and is not higher than 520°C. In particular, since the firing temperature is set at the temperature exceeding 500°C and being not higher than 520°C, the strength of the catalyst becomes higher and the durability thereof is improved. |
