<p>The present invention relates to a user interface system and a method thereof for providing user interface operation executed by a click using a proximity sensor in a smart device and to a user interface system and a method thereof for displaying user selection corresponding to an area touched by detecting the touch of a user through a touch screen. A proximity sensor unit notifies proximity sensing information by sensing the proximity of the user. A memory unit stores menu information corresponding to the touched area. A control unit recognizes a button input by receiving the proximity sensing information from the proximity sensor and displays the menu information corresponding to the touched area on a touch screen by reading the menu information from the memory unit. The user interface system and the user interface method may increase user convenience by providing the user interface which is easily controlled by the user.
