PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that uses both an optical image blur correction and an electronic image blur correction, and is designed to improve the effect of image blur correction by increasing the movable range of an optical image blur correction.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a shake detecting section 117 configured to detect shake of the apparatus; an image blur correction lens unit 103 configured to make an optical image blur correction, for optically correcting an image blur resulting from the shake; a camera system control section 119 and an optical image blur correction control section 104, which are configured to control an amount of drive of the image blur correction lens unit 103; and an electronic image blur correction control section 118 configured to make an electronic image blur correction, for electronically correcting image blur resulting from the shake. When the setting of the electronic image blur correction is effective, the camera system control section 119 increases a movable range of the optical image blur correction, compared to the case where the setting of the electronic image blur correction is ineffective. |
