PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an electrode for an electric double layer capacitor, with which constant output voltage can be obtained and in which carbon nanotubes are used; and an electric double layer capacitor including the electrode.SOLUTION: In an electrode for an electric double layer capacitor, an electrode material comprises single layer carbon nanotubes, the carbon nanotubes have an average diameter of 1.0-1.6 nm and a 3&sgr; of a diameter distribution of 0.2 nm or less, and a bundled body of the carbon nanotubes or a bundled body of the carbon nanotubes firmly fixed to a collector separately provided is used as an electrode. An electric double layer capacitor includes the electrode. |
