PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine of fuel direct injection method which prevents atomized fuel from being stuck to an inner surface of a cylinder bore in a cold state by the use of a simple structure, in the internal combustion engine of fuel direct injection method.SOLUTION: A water-cooled internal combustion engine is provided. A cooling water passage 18 is disposed on an engine body. An inter-cooler 12 inserted to an intake passage 10 and the cooling water passage 18 are connected on conduit lines 29, 30 and a switching valve 31 is disposed on the conduit line 29. Upon the cold operation, an inter-cooler driving pump 16 is stopped and a switching valve 31 is opened and, thereby, intake is heated by the inter-cooler 12. Thereby, gasification of atomized fuel is facilitated and the sticking of fuel to a cylinder bore 3 can be suppressed. The liquid-cooled internal combustion engine uses cooling water and, therefore, is excellent in versatility. |
