The device (12) has a carrier component (20) partially embedded in a plate unit (14) i.e. hob plate. The carrier component includes an opening i.e. elongate hole, in a bent region (30). The plate unit is designed as a composite component and partially formed from a ceramic material or fiber material. A heating device (60) is connected with the plate unit via the carrier component. The plate unit lies on a working plate (64) in a mounted condition, and is sealed by a sealing unit (62). The bent region includes a distance of 2 mm to a surface (15) i.e. cooking surface, of the plate unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a domestic appliance device.
