The device has a tubular runner shaft (10) comprising an annular row of openings (12). An oil separation element (14) comprises a tubular body. The tubular body is wound up from an outside in the openings of the shaft and provided with a radial support to radially support an external surface of the shaft. A ring (35) is axially committed on the shaft and provided with retaining units for retaining the tubular body in the openings of the shaft and an axial immobilization unit (46) to immobilize the ring on the shaft. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a de-oiling device.
