The invention relates to a mail-sorting machine (101) for sorting mail items (1) and dividers (2), including: sorting outlets (105); a first unstacking device (102); a conveyor (104) distributing said mail items (1) and dividers (2) between said sorting outlets (105); a second unstacking device (103) that automatically unstacks at least one divider (2) according to at least one predetermined criterion, and feeds said at least one divider into the flow of mail items (1), said conveyor (104) distributing said reinserted divider (2) to a specific predetermined sorting outlet (105); and a device (103) for stacking dividers (2), which is arranged between said first unstacking device (102) and said second unstacking device (103), so as to extract dividers (2), stack said dividers, store said dividers, and automatically feed said second unstacking device (103).
