In a relational database, if transmission to a memory device is performed in units of columns, data in the same column will be arranged in consecutive addresses, and access will have to be performed a plurality of times to discrete addresses even when accessing a single row, and thus, access efficiency will be impaired. This information processing system comprises a memory device, a storage device, and a database processing engine, wherein the database processing engine includes a module that converts a column-type page stored in the storage device into a row-type page and stores same in the memory device. Thus, pages are managed as row-type pages in the memory device, and therefore, efficient access to a database can be achieved. |
