<p>A railroad vehicle in which an engine (4) is capable of driving wheels (2) and the engine (4) has different efficiency depending on rotational speed and output torque, wherein a hydraulic motor/pump (6) and an accumulator (8) are capable of driving the wheels (2), and kinetic energy from the wheels (2) can be recovered. Based on information of the engine (4), information of the drive supplementing and regeneration means, information of the line traveled, and information of an operational pattern, a control device (18) stores a control pattern established in advance so that the energy balance is minimal throughout the entire line, and controls the engine (4), the hydraulic motor/pump (6), and the accumulator (8) in accordance with at least the position of the vehicle and the control pattern.</p> |
