This magnetic resonance imaging device (100) is provided with a gradient magnetic field amplifier (3), a power cell (40b), a detection unit (40d), and a power cell control unit (40e). The gradient magnetic field amplifier (3) supplies power to a gradient magnetic field coil (2). The power cell (40b) charges the power supplied from a power source (30). The detection unit (40d) detects a high-power output request in the gradient magnetic field amplifier (3). The power cell control unit (40e) implements a control so that in addition to the power coming from the power source (30), power with which the power cell (40b) is charged is supplied to the gradient magnetic field amplifier (3) when the high-power output request is detected.
