Provided are an array substrate including a thin film transistor; a color filter layer opposing the array substrate and comprising a black matrix formed on the direction of a first direction and a second direction; a black stripe formed on an upper side of the color filter layer and corresponding to the first direction with the black matrix; a patterned retarder formed on an upper side of the black stripe; and a liquid crystal display having a line width of the black stripe gradually increasing edgeward the second direction.
