<p>A nitride semiconductor light emitting device is provided with a nitride semiconductor light emitting element (3), and a package (10) that houses the nitride semiconductor light emitting element (3). The package (10) has: a base (11) having an opening (11c); a cap (30) constituting, with the base (11), a housing space for housing the nitride semiconductor light emitting element (3); lead pins (14a, 14b), which pass through the opening (11c), and which are electrically connected to the nitride semiconductor light emitting element (3); and insulating members (17a, 17b), which are embedded in the opening (11c), and which insulate the base (11) and the lead pins (14a, 14b) from each other. Each of the insulating members (17a, 17b) has at least a portion facing the housing space formed of a first insulating material not containing Si-O binding.</p> |
