PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber having a simple structure that stably stops a reciprocating movable body in both directions of reciprocation in a shock absorbing manner.SOLUTION: The tips of rods 6a, 6b forming one connecting rod 5 are protruded outside in a liquid tight manner through covers 4a, 4b at both ends of a liquid chamber 3 filled with liquid in a cylinder housing 1. Both rods holds shock absorbing pistons 10a, 10b that can move in an axial direction in the liquid chamber. Between the pistons and inner peripheral surfaces of piston chambers 14a, 14b, circulation gaps 13a, 13b are formed respectively which give flow resistance to liquid outflowing to back sides of the pistons by compression of liquid in the piston chambers, and between both pistons and the connecting rod, a one-way flow channel is provided which prevents circulation of liquid when the piston is pushed toward the piston chamber side and allows circulation of liquid when it is pushed in the opposite direction. |
