PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a television receiver capable of improving the rigidity of a backlight chassis while improving the appearance of the display device.SOLUTION: The television receiver comprises: a reception unit for receiving television broadcast; and a display device for displaying an image based on the television broadcast received by the reception unit. The backlight chassis 21 of the display device supports a light source unit which emits light for displaying the image and constitutes a portion of the outer case of the display device. The backlight chassis 21 comprises a peripheral wall composed of integrally strung side walls 21b, 21c, 21d, 21e erected from the respective sides of a rectangular bottom wall 21a, the peripheral wall surrounding the light source unit. |
