The sensor (10) has a sensor element (12) with a measurement gas-side sensor section (14) projected from a sensor housing (16). The gas-side sensor section partly surrounds protective tubes (20, 22, 32). A porous hollow shaped body (38) is arranged in sections between the gas-side sensor section of the sensor element and the protective tubes. The porous shaped body is partly made of ceramic material such as aluminum oxide, spinel, yttrium-stabilized zirconium dioxide and forsterite. The shaped body is releasably arranged between the gas-side sensor section and the tubes. The sensor section is designed as a ring shoulder.
