PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter body which: has strength needed for filtering and backwashing; is low in cost; has a filter for filtration with a high overall through-hole ratio; can generate backwashing flow up close to an inner surface and an inside of a filtering material; and collects an organism in ballast water and to provide a filtering device having the filter body as well as a seawater treatment device.SOLUTION: A filter body 6 has a cylindrical filtering material 21 supported by a supporting body 20 with opening sections 17C and 18C at both ends in an axial direction X. When filtering, raw water flows in from the opening section, permeates through the filtering material and runs out of the filter body through a peripheral surface. When backwashing, backwash water outside the filter body flows in through the peripheral surface of the filter body, breaks away an excrescence on an inner surface of the filtering material and runs out through the opening section 17C. The supporting body 20 has edge supporting cylinders 17 and 18 with opening sections formed at both ends in the axial direction and a cylindrical supporting material 19 which connects peripheral sections of both supporting cylinders and has a plurality of hole sections. The supporting body 20 has a gap of 0.1 to 2.0 mm in a radial direction between an outer surface of the supporting material 19 and an inner surface of the filtering material 21.
