PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve optical characteristics, in comparison to conventional ones, by simple steps in an optical film that obtains desired optical characteristics by use of a liquid crystal layer.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for an optical film comprises: an application type mold formation step in which an application type mold 30 is formed; an application type resin layer formation step in which a surface profile for an application type resin layer is formed by an application type process using the application type mold 30; and a liquid crystal layer formation step in which a liquid crystal layer is formed by applying a material for a liquid crystal layer to the surface of the application type resin layer and curing it.
