PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens holding member for dip coating, for preventing liquid retention on a lens upon dipping the lens in a hard coating liquid.SOLUTION: The lens holding member for dip coating is configured in such a manner that: right and left supporting members support an edge part above the center of the lens and have inclined faces inclining downward from the contact portions with the edge part; and contact portions of a lower part and the right and left supporting members of the holding member with the lens edge are each formed into a circular arc or elliptic arc recess. When a straight line is drawn connecting both ends of the circular arc or the elliptic arc, a ratio (b/a) of a distance (b) from a point halving the length of the circular arc or the elliptic arc to a point where a line drawn from the halving point crosses perpendicular to the straight line, to the length (a) of the straight line is 0.05 or more and less than 1. |
