The motor (100) has a rotor (182) comprising slats (168-177) that are provided with a collector (183). Brushes (187, 197) are applied with an electric voltage for energization of a rotor winding (199) and connected with the rotor. The brushes and/or the slats are asymmetrically formed to change the electric voltage based on a rotation direction of the rotor. The brushes are arranged at a distance to each other in a circumferential direction of the collector, where different prolonged distances between commutation phases are formed by the distance between the brushes in the rotation direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for recognizing change of a rotation direction of a rotor in a commutator motor (2) a device for recognizing change of a rotation direction of a rotor in a commutator motor.
