PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler which can exhibit preferable muffling performance and to provide a supercharger provided with the muffler.SOLUTION: A muffler 5 includes: an annular part 52 which has an inflow part 51 causing gas to flow thereinto and is formed in an annular shape; a closure part 53 in which one side opening part in the center axial direction of the annular part 52 is closed; and a discharge port 54 in which the gas is discharged toward the other side in the central axial direction, whereby sound entering from the discharge port 54 is attenuated. The closure part 53 includes a retainer plate 57 having a through-hole, a closure plate 58 arranged on the opposite side to the discharge port 54 side of the retainer plate 57 and a closure part sound absorbing material 59 held between the retainer plate 57 and the closure plate 58. The retainer plate 57 and the closure plate 58 are connected only on respective outer edge parts to each other and the outer edge parts are connected and fixed to an annular plate 52a of the annular part 52. |
