PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing functional materials capable of easily imparting various types of functionalization to backing materials such as a fibrous wire, a nonwoven fabric, a film and a porous material and the like.SOLUTION: A method for producing functional materials includes a process of impregnating a backing material made of a water-soluble polymer compound having a hydroxy group and provided with insolubility with a solution including metal ions followed by a process of binding the metal ions in the solution including metal ions with the hydroxy group by using an oxidant or a reductant, or by conducting a heating treatment. |
