PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic material comprising a foam containing paper as a component of a foaming material, the acoustic material having an excellent acoustic absorption property, and a method for producing an acoustic material.SOLUTION: An acoustic material 1A comprises foamed cells S1, S2, and S3 which are formed by foaming a pulp fiber component, synthetic resin component and starch component as an adjuvant to form numerous spaces. In the acoustic material 1A, the synthetic resin component is a polypropylene resin having a melt flow rate (MFR) of 20 g/10 min-30 g/10 min and the cell structure is in a sparse state. |
