PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase rotor torque in a rotary electric machine.SOLUTION: A stator 12 includes stator windings 20u, 20v, and 20w wound around teeth 19. A rotor 14 includes: a rotor core 24; rotor windings 28n and 28s wound around a plurality of salient poles 26 of the rotor 14; diodes 38 and 40 as magnetic characteristic adjustment sections that allow circumferentially different magnetic characteristics to be produced in the salient poles 26 by induced electromotive force generated in the rotor windings 28n and 28s; and permanent magnets 42 and 44 that are provided in leading ends of the salient poles 26 and that are magnetized along a rotor circumferential direction perpendicular to a direction of magnetization of the salient poles 26 created by induced current flowing through the rotor windings 28n and 28s. |
