摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cuprous oxide powder having a smaller grain dimeter than conventional ones and a method of producing the same by a chemical reduction method.SOLUTION: In a method of producing a cuprous oxide powder including the reduction precipitation of cuprous oxide particles by adding a reductant such as a reducing sugar after adding an alkali solution to a copper ion-containing solution or vice versa to produce copper hydroxide, a divalent iron ion of 0.00001 to 0.04 mol (10 o 40000 ppm) based on an amount of a copper ion in the copper ion-containing solution is added to the solution before producing the copper hydroxide and then the cuprous oxide powder having 0.5 μm or less of an average primary particle diameter measured by a scanning type electron microscope (SEM), 0.8 μm or less of 50% particle size (Dsize) calculated by a laser diffraction type particle size distribution measurement and 30 ppm or more of iron is produced.
