<p>A system for interactive online advertisements, comprising a merchant interface, an advertising server, and shopping cart software. The merchant interface receives requests from merchants to upload one or more advertisements to the advertising server, and receives requests from merchants to place product-related information at specific points in time within an advertisement. Upon receiving the requests from the merchant interface, the advertising server creates an interactive online advertisement. When a user views a web page with an interactive online advertisement, the user is provided with the advertisement for viewing and, at the specific points in time within the advertisement, the product-related information is provided to the user. Upon receiving a request from a user to place a product in a user's cart, the shopping cart software module adds the product into the user's shopping cart, without the user having to leave the page or the interactive online advertisement.</p> |
