A manufacturing method of a flexible display to which a large-area substrate is easily detachable is disclosed. The manufacturing method of a flexible display given in the present invention includes: a step of forming a substrate separation layer which triggers a piezoelectric effect on a support substrate; a step of attaching a plastic substrate on the substrate separation layer; a step of forming a circuit element on the plastic substrate; and a step of applying a voltage on the substrate separation layer to induce contraction or expansion of the substrate separation layer and separating the support substrate and the plastic substrate. By using a piezoelectric material layer which can be contracted or expanded by an electrical signal for a separation process of the support substrate and the plastic substrate, it is possible to easily separate a large-area substrate uniformly without an expensive laser device and prevent mechanical damage while the large-area substrate is being detached.
