PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for a vehicle capable of suppressing an occurrence of hunting and stepping in control of brake fluid supplied to a master cylinder.SOLUTION: In the braking device for a vehicle of this invention, a boosting and decompressing characteristic selection part selects a boosting characteristic when target wheel cylinder pressure continuously increases for a prescribed operation determination period, and selects a decompressing characteristic when the target wheel cylinder pressure continuously decreases for a prescribed operation determination period. In addition, an output servo pressure setting part 65 sets target servo pressure according to the boosting characteristic or the decompressing characteristic selected by the boosting and decompressing characteristic selection part. Then, a servo pressure generator generates a servo pressure on the basis of the target servo pressure.
