Apparatus for folding a wrapper into, for example, a small bag or basket comprises a rotary head, which is arranged adjacent to a co-axial wrapping wheel with pairs of article gripping elements and which rotates at the same circumferential speed as the wheel. The rotary head has the same number of wrapper folding sets as pairs of gripping elements are arranged on the wrapping wheel. Each folding set comprises an angle folder 3, a clamping folder 4 and an axial folder 5, which are mounted to be displaceable axially in the rotary head. Operative elements 7 of the angle folders 3 and the operative elements 16 of the clamping folders 4 (Figs. 2 and 4) are arranged to be pivotable. <IMAGE>
