PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a small high frequency piezoelectric vibration element, which has a small CI value and suppresses a spurious emission in a surrounding area, with a fundamental wave.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibration element 1 includes: a piezoelectric substrate 10 which includes a rectangular vibration part 12 and a thick part 13 integrated with the vibration part 12 and having a large thickness; excitation electrodes 25a, 25b; and lead electrodes 27a, 27b. The thick part 13 includes a first thick part 14 and a second thick part 15 which is provided so as to continue into one end of the first thick part 14. The first thick part 14 includes a first inclination part 14b changing its thickness and a first thick part body 14a having a square pole shape. At least one slit 20 is provided at the first thick part 14.
