The present invention relates to a mother substrate for a liquid crystal display device and a method of manufacturing the same. The mother substrate comprises: a plurality of thin film transistor substrates in which a cell with a thin film transistor is formed; a guard ring which is formed to form a closed loop and surround the plurality of thin film transistor substrates and prevent static electricity; a first line and a second line which are connected to the guard ring outside a mask shot during light exposure and forms equipotentiality; a first connection pattern for connecting the cell to the guard ring; and a second connection pattern for connecting the cell to the first line or the second line, wherein the guard ring, the first and second lines, and the first and second connection patterns are made of the same material on the same layer. |
