PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery which has a high capacity and good charge and discharge cycle characteristics and allows the achievement of good productivity; and a method for manufacturing the nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery.SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery of the invention comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a nonaqueous electrolyte and a separator. The positive electrode has a positive electrode mixture layer on each or both of opposing sides of a current collector; the positive electrode mixture layer includes a positive-electrode active material, a binder and a conductive assistant. As the positive-electrode active material, a lithium-containing complex oxide including Ni and having a particular composition is used. The binder of the positive electrode contains polyvinylidene fluoride and a vinylidene fluoride-chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer. It is preferable that the nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery is manufactured according to the manufacturing method of the invention; a positive electrode used in the method is manufactured following a procedure including the steps of: preparing a mixture containing the lithium-containing complex oxide and the vinylidene fluoride-chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer; then, adding the polyvinylidene fluoride; preparing a composition for forming the positive electrode mixture layer; and using the composition to manufacture the positive electrode. |
