In the present invention, an operating apparatus (6) for a solar radiation shielding device comprises: a pulley (15) provided to a region on one end of a winding shaft (3); an operating cord (7) fastened on the pulley (15); and a drive mechanism for rotating and driving the winding shaft (3) by the operation of the operating cord (7). The drive mechanism comprises: a case (10) for rotatably supporting the pulley (15), the case being able to rotate relative to a support bracket (2a) and being suspended by its own weight from the support bracket (2a); and transmission mechanisms (16, 17, 18) provided in the case (10) and for transmitting the rotation of the pulley (15) to the winding shaft (3). |
